Carlos Lam Yang
Dr Lam Yang has been an East Care doctor since the end of 2012. He enjoys the acute nature of the work and the variety of challenges that presents itself through the doorway of East Care. He has handily blended his skills as both a GP and an Urgent Care Physician, to provide the best care possible to the patients he encounters and will aim to provide you with a high quality consult.
Carlos qualified in medicine at the University of Otago and spent his formative years in the deep South, living and training in Dunedin and Christchurch, before coming up to Auckland to do his Urgent Care and GP training. He also speaks fluent Cantonese which makes it very useful in an ethnically diverse region like East Auckland.
Dr Lam Yang is also passionate about Asian Health and is involved in two Counties Manukau District Health Board groups, trying to improve the health of the local Asian population. He also does charitable work via his executive role in the Auckland Chinese Medical Association, often presenting health talks to the wider Chinese community and performing health checks at various social and educational events throughout Auckland.
When not working, he likes to spend time travelling with his family, going on hikes around various trails, watching Netflix, or attending various kid-friendly events in Auckland with his two energetic kids.
