Special interest in facial pain, TMJ problems, oral medicine problems and dento-alveolar surgery. Graduated from Otago University, 1979, then spent six years completing specialist training – three years in England and three years at Ohio State (USA) University. Completed his specialist Fellowship at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Neil graduated Ohio State with a Master of Science in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Returned to NZ, 1988 and was appointed a senior lecturer in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Otago University. He has been in private practice in Auckland since 1992 and continues to work as a part-time consultant for the Auckland District Health Board.
